My first time blogging

I am in tears as I think of the many years that have gone by without me recording the wonders of raising our family.  I will admit this is super intimidating to me.  I am not a writer.  I am not creative.  But, I know as I do what I should be doing, which is, recording the trails and joys of life, I will learn and make this thing that is so HARD to me, become something that I love!!!

So, a little history on our Douglas crew.  First of all, Craig and I are high school sweet hearts.  We fell inlove way too young and somehow have managed through God's grace to stay together and create a friendship and love that is eternal.  I truely married my best friend.  Never knew love could get better but, honestly it has! We married fresh out of high school and started our family right away. Our first born is Shelby, who is 12.  She is in 7th grade. (middle school) YIKES!!!  Shelby is an amazing kid.  She brings fun into our family.  She is the reason we have become so strong in our faith.  She made us go to church and through the obedience of attending we have grown and matured closer to our Father in Heaven.  Craig III was born next.  Craig is 10.  He rules the elementary school.  The big 5th grader!!  Craig is the HELPER of the family.  He is willing to serve others.  He has charity...the pure Love of Christ.  Our third born is Brendan.  He is 8 and in 3rd grade.  He has recently been baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  We believe 8 is the age of accountability.  Therefore the right time to be baptized.  Brendan is a gem.  Twinkly eyed, laughing, jokester of the family.  Loves to tease and brings sunshine into our home.  Our fourth child is Brianna.  Brianna our little ballerina is 5 and just started school this year.  She is a loving, nuturing soul.  She loves to please and to help.  Our baby girl!!  Finally, our last born..number FIVE is Lance.  Lance was Heaven sent.  We really wanted to be done but, knew we weren't.  I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer when Brianna was only two weeks old.  I was to have a hysterectomy and chemotherapy.  The Lord was merciful and after a preisthood blessing given by my husband, his brother John, and brother Steve, I was healed.  I know to most people this sounds like an unbelievable story.  I am here to testify that it is TRUE.  I know my Father in Heaven had plans for me to bring more children into this world.  He had a plan.  A plan that I couldn't see.  I will be forever grateful of his mercy.  Without it we wouldn't have our little Lancey!!!  Lance is 2.  Need I say more???  lol  He is energetic, loving, and into EVERYTHING!!  He has brought so much joy and laughter into our home.  We are so blessed to borrow these children to raise up.
